Types of cookies and storage

Essential technologies support login, session security, fraud prevention, account access, checkout, and requested Service functionality.

Functional browser storage remembers the position of the floating video player. Clearing browser storage removes this preference. Search history is stored on our servers, as described in the Privacy Policy.

VideoAskable does not use third-party advertising trackers. With your permission, first-party analytics measures site visits, search starts, successful searches, and result openings. It uses fixed source categories, approved campaign labels, a random visit ID lasting up to 30 minutes, and a random browser ID lasting up to 30 days. The browser ID estimates returning browsers and is not linked to your account. Analytics records do not contain questions, video links, answers, account identifiers, full referrer URLs, IP addresses, or device fingerprints. Known bot user agents are filtered without storing them in analytics. Reports exclude event records after 30 days; hourly cleanup removes them, normally within one additional hour.

With the same analytics permission, temporary references to newly completed searches stay in your browser until their original 30-minute visit expires. This lets the first result opening remain associated with that visit after a reload or reopening History, including in another tab. Search references are not sent to the analytics collector. Withdrawal clears these references, and old saved searches do not become new campaign conversions.

Consent and controls

Optional browser analytics is off until you select Accept in the optional cookies prompt. The expanded site and returning-browser measurement requires a new choice if you previously accepted campaign-only analytics; previous refusals are respected. You can select Decline without affecting the service, or change your choice at any time through Privacy settings. Withdrawal stops future browser analytics collection and clears the visit and browser identifiers. Previously collected events follow the 30-day reporting limit and hourly cleanup described above. Necessary technologies remain available for features you request.

Separately, 14-day server request logs help diagnose campaign-link delivery using fixed campaign labels, HTTP response details and per-request delivery identifiers. They do not set or read cookies or browser storage, do not identify returning browsers, and are not joined to your account or optional analytics. They remain in use when you decline optional cookies. The Privacy Policy describes the fields and limits of this diagnostic processing.

You can also control cookies and browser storage through your browser. Blocking essential storage may affect Service functionality.
